Torbeck Industries was founded by Richard
Torbeck Sr. and Richard Torbeck Jr. as a manufacturer of floor
trucks, carts and related steel products. |
| 1980 |
Torbeck Industries started manufacturing
custom and modular steel mezzanines, stairways, and catwalks. |
| 1984 |
Torbeck expanded into dock equipment products,
which included a wide range of aluminum dock boards, plates,
and related accessories. |
| 1985 |
Torbeck sold the industrial cart and truck
business to focus solely on the manufacture of quality dock
and mezzanine products. Company moves from Lockland, OH to present
facility in Harrison, OH. |
| 1990 |
Torbeck begins to train and implement new
methods of manufacturing centered around Associate Involvement
Teams and Continuous Improvement Process. New product "SAF-T-RAIL"
was introduced, the market leader in rugged, reliable industrial
guard rail. |
| 1992 |
Torbeck expanded manufacturing facility
with 40,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and office space. A completely
new state-of-the-art manufacturing system was brought on line
along with additional offices and training rooms. |
| 1994 |
Introduction of InnerPlex Office Systems,
a revolutionary new type of modular offices. First product totally
designed and implemented at Torbeck using team concepts. |
| 1995 |
Introduction of QUiK Space-3 mezzanine
systems. First new mezzanine system in the industry in 10 years.
Many advanced features that will set the industry standards
in the coming years. Product was the result of 1 1/2 years team
development. |
| 1999 |
Created two new divisions. One division
was structured to handle Safety and Dock Products; the other
was dedicated to Engineered Structural Platforms (ESP). Each
respective division has separate distributions channels. |
| 2000 |
The Accident Interventions Systems™
(AIS) concept was developed as a proactive, systems approach
to in-plant safety. Infrastructure adjustments were also implemented
to position Torbeck Industries, ESP Division as the "Solutions
Group" serving the OEM and System Integrators. |
