American
Eagle
When Vargo Material Handling was chose to install the conveyor system
at American EagleÍs new distribution center in Ottawa, KS, they turned
to Torbeck Industries to provide the support structure. Having used
Torbeck in the past, and knowing their reputation for quality and
on-time delivery, made them a natural choice to manufacture the 100,000
sq. ft. platform.
Through the hard work and collaboration of the engineers at Vargo
and Torbeck, the project boasted one of the quickest turn around times
for Torbeck- about 3 to 4 weeks from receipt of the P.O. Because of
the quality and quick turnaround time exhibited in completing the
platform, TorbeckÍs Saf-T-Products Group is currently consulting to
install barrier protection around key conveyance and sortation equipment
could cripple the operation if damaged. |

SubmitOrder.com
When Rapistan
(The Material Handling Automation Division of Siemens Dematic) needed
someone who could provide quality and on time delivery of a large
structural platform (5 platforms totaling 148,770 sq. ft.) for SubmitOrder.com's
state-of-the-art distribution facility in Columbus, OH, they turned
to Torbeck Industries.
Once the platforms were installed, Torbeck then created an Accident
Intervention Systems (AIS) plan to protect their multi-million
dollar investment from damage and downtime. Knowing that key conveyance
and sortation equipment could cripple the operation if damaged, our
goal was to protect valuable components using standard and customized
solutions.
In addition to protecting their equipment, SubmitOrder also wanted
to assure the safety of their employees. By identifying the "Dirty
Dozen", the twelve areas where accidents happen most, Torbeck installed
the needed protection around employee traffic areas, restrooms, stairways
and egress lanes.
When the project was completed, SubmitOrder had invested less than
0.2% of the facility cost to protect their multi-million dollar distribution
center. |
